FAIRFIELD (AP) — Police said one man was killed and second man was hospitalized after a head-on crash in Fairfield.
Police said 67-year-old James Murphy of Starks was headed north on Norridgewock Road on Wednesday night when a southbound pickup truck crossed the center line and hit Murphy’s car head-on.
Sgt. Matthew Bard told the Morning Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1gop3Ux ) that Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene.
The pickup’s driver, 37-year-old Mark Bussell of Fairfield, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The crash remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
Murphy was a retired biochemist who operated a small dairy farm.
