1930 – 2013

MEXICO — Francis L. Gotto, 83, of Mexico, died Thursday, Nov. 28, at his home, with his loving family by his side.

He was born in Rumford on Sept. 28, 1930, the son of Francis and Amelia (Parella) Gotto, and graduated from Mexico High School. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Francis worked as a machinist at Boise Cascade Paper Co., in Rumford, until his retirement.

He was a member of the Napoleon Ouellette Post 24 American Legion and was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius-St. John Church.

He was married in Mexico on Jan. 15, 1988, to Lily Breau, who survives him of Mexico. Other survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Flynn and husband, Greg, of Mexico; sons, Francis of Lakeland, Fla., and Timothy Gotto of Rumford; stepdaughter, Janet Rowe and husband, James, of Miami , Fla.; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Ted Gotto and wife, Priscilla, of Roxbury; and sisters, Sue Waterhouse of Rumford and Gloria Hubert of Hawaii.
