LISBON — A late afternoon fire destroyed a home on Ferry Road on Saturday, leaving one family homeless.
Deputy Chief Bob Robitaille said firefighters responded to a call from 109 Ferry Road at 4:49 p.m. reporting fire in the ceiling of the one-story modular home.
“On our arrival, fire had take over the attic space,” he said. “We had to pull ceilings in every room.”
Firefighters stayed at the scene for three hours. There were no reports of injuries. The home, owned by the Starbird family, was a loss. It was not insured.
Fire Chief Sean Galipeau said he would return on Sunday to investigate the cause.
“I’m leaning toward the wood-stove pipe that went up through the ceiling,” he said.
