RUMFORD — Mountain Valley High School Principal Matt Gilbert announced Students of the Term at a school-wide assembly. Every term, teachers select a student from each class to honor.

The freshman recipient was Andrew Arsenault. According to Gilbert, the nominating teacher wrote, “Andrew is a bright and energetic young man. He has a great personality. He is active in the soccer team and ski team.”

Ronnie Russell was chosen from the sophomore class. “He is academically sound,” his nominating teacher wrote. “He is currently enrolled in 10 classes at MVHS He also takes great pride in building connections with the community through school by volunteering and he always participated in class activities. His volunteering outside of school consists of sound and lighting for community events at the school and town hall; and does trail work for the snowmobile club.”

Junior Edward Vidito accepted accolades from his nominating teacher who wrote, “He continuously has his work completed on time and participates in class. During the term, he worked with another student who was struggling with class assignments as well as dealing with issues outside of school. He demonstrated a great deal of maturity and empathy when helping this student. I would love to teach a classroom of Ed Viditos.”

Finally, senior Ellie Hall rounded out the students honored. “She is an all around active student. She is involved in Student Council, Student Advisory Board, National Honor Society, Peer Helpers, field hockey team and ski team,” her nominating teacher wrote.

The students received a MVHS T-shirt and recognition on stage with their parents. Students and staff applauded the award winners and their parents or family members who joined the students on stage. Russell was not present due to an appointment.
