WATERVILLE— Police are looking for a man they say strolled out of a Kmart store pushing a cart filled with about $450 worth of toys.
Deputy Chief Charles Rumsey says the man was pushing a cart rapidly across the parking lot about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday when store security personnel caught up with him.
He was asked to produce a receipt, but said he must have lost it. When store employees asked him to return to the store, he abandoned the cart and fled across the street where he got into a car and drove away.
Police have released surveillance images of the man, who appeared to be in his 30s.
Rumsey tells the Morning Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1fpzGqa ) the man tried to get away with several Lego sets and a remote-controlled Corvette.
