FREEPORT — Hailed as Freeport’s number one attraction by Trip Advisor, The Freeport Theater of Awesome is back under new ownership who are carrying on the vision of the founders, Matthew and Jason Tardy, to present shows that are high quality and family friendly.

New owners Deb Doherty and Tom Scannell are no strangers to producing thrilling entertainment themselves. With decades of experience performing and staging live shows throughout New England including programs at Point Sebago Resort, the team has already lined up highly sought after acts for the electrifying 2014 season.

Doherty and Scannell are adding interactive children’s theater. During the theater’s Comedia Tales series, children can take part in the show. The team is also launching a Broadway Cabaret series with some of New York’s most dynamic entertainers.

Witness this year’s season opener, AudioBody, a thrilling, high-tech, comedy show that features an explosive mix of technological mishaps, relentless comedy, full-body contortion, juggling, LED light shows and up-beat music.

Performances will be held at various times Friday, Jan. 10; and Saturday, Jan. 11. Tickets can be purchased at www.theaterofawesome.com.
