1952 – 2014

CHESTERVILLE — Dan Patrick McNally, 61, of Norcross Pond in Chesterville, passed away from natural causes on Friday, Jan. 3.

He was born in Skowhegan on Nov. 30, 1952, the son of Arthur Jr. “Sonny” and Adena (Holt) McNally. He was educated in Skowhegan schools and graduated from East Hartford High School in Connecticut, with the Class of 1970. He married Jane Pease on May 28, 1976, at Norcross Pond, and he lived in Chesterville for 38 years.

Dan was a carpenter by trade and worked with various companies, before settling down with Cianbro Corp., for the past 25 years. In the past few years, he trained other team members on equipment operation and safety. He participated in job fairs on behalf of the company. Dan really enjoyed his co-workers at the institute and it is safe to say that he probably trained most of them in one thing or another. He was well-respected and well-liked, and will be sadly missed.

Dan was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Chesterville Country Ramblers Snowmobile Club, where he served as treasurer. He enjoyed anything to do with the outdoors and especially hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, grooming snowmobile trails, being on the pond in his pontoon boat and spending time at camp in Dallas Plantation. Dan loved to help out his neighbors with his tractor. Jane would like to thank everyone for their kind thoughts and prayers.

Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jane, of Chesterville; two sisters, Patti and partner, Cindy, of Jewett City, Conn., and Rhonda of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Lance and wife, Carol, of Farmington and Wayne and wife, Doris, of Leeds; stepdaughters, Wendy and husband, Mike, of Eddington, Janet and husband, Ken, of Dayville, Conn., and Pam of Mount Vernon; and too many nieces and nephews to name, all of whom he loved very much.

He was predeceased by his grandparents; parents; and sister, Sharon.
