LEWISTON — Richard J. Sirois, 70, of Lewiston, died Sunday, Dec. 29, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.
He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 22, 1943, a son of the late Antonio and Elsie Janelle Sirois. He was educated in Lewiston schools and was employed in local shoe manufacturing.
Richard was a kind person who helped others, even when faced with challenges of his own. He enjoyed all sports, as well as playing cribbage and shuffleboard. As the very social person he was, he established a card playing group at d’Youville Pavilion.
He is survived by a son, Gerard E. Sirois, of Lewiston; a sister, Terri Pelletier and husband, Paul, of Lewiston; a brother-in-law, Ed Lizotte and wife, Jackie, of Sabattus; his good friend, Lisa Jackson and family; and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; his former wife and good friend, Jeannine Morin; and a brother, Normand J. Sirois.
Special thanks are extended to the entire staff at d’Youville Pavilion for the excellent care they gave Richard.
You are invited to share your condolences with the Sirois family by visiting their guest book at www.thefortingrouplewiston.com.
