BETHEL — Austin Ryerson threw in 11 points and knocked down three 3-pointers as Telstar ditched Mt. Abram with a 41-35 victory in a boys’ basketball game Friday night.

The Rebels (2-9) took 23-20 lead at halftime and scored 11 points in the crucial fourth quarter.

Telstar’s Mike Daugherty helped out with his 11 points and Maverik Griffin lent a hand with 10.

For Mt. Abram (1-8), Tristen Dyer dropped in the team-high nine points.

Hall-Dale 60, Dirigo 57

HALLOWELL — Senior forward Wesley Lapointe tossed a team-high 12 points in a balanced attack as Hall-Dale notched a 60-57 victory over Dirigo in MVC boys’ basketball action Friday.

Nate Crocker pushed hard and was a catalyst in the second half for the Bulldogs (7-3). Alex McPherson scored all nine of his points in the fourth quarter.

Senior forward Dylan Kidder recorded a game-high 17 points for the Cougars (7-1), while Riley Robinson contributed 13.

Lisbon 53, Carrabec 47

CARRABEC — Jacob Johnston tabulated a game-high 16 points to lead Lisbon to a 53-47 victory over Carrabec in boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Greyhounds led 31-24 at halftime.

Tucker Brannon posted 13 points, while Johnny Yim contributed 12 for the Greyhounds.

Rangeley 47, Vinalhaven 46

RANGELEY — Sophomore guard Timmy White recorded a game-high 14 points to lift Rangeley to a 47-46 victory over Vinalhaven in double overtime in WMC boys’ basketball action Friday.

The contest was nip and tuck throughout, with the Vikings (0-7) taking a three-point edge in the fourth quarter to force the first overtime.

Michael Haley contributed 11 points for the Lakers (2-6), while Orrin Mitchell added another 10 points for Rangeley.

Freshman guard Cody Hamilton paced Vinalhaven with a team-leading 11 points.

Winthrop 67, Mountain Valley 54

RUMFORD — Junior guard Matt Sekarak notched a team-high 15 points as Winthrop toppled Mountain Valley 67-54 in boys’ basketball action Friday.

The Ramblers (9-2) led 35-28 at the midpoint. Jacob Hickey contributed 13 points in a balanced attack as five players scored in double digits for Winthrop.

Caleb Gauvin scored an impressive 27 points and recorded a double-double with 12 rebounds for the Falcons (1-8).

Girls’ basketball

Rangeley 54, Vinalhaven 26

RANGELEY — Junior point guard Taylor Esty sank a game-high 18 points to lead Rangeley to a 54-26 victory over Vinalhaven in EWC girls’ basketball action Friday.

Blayke Morin posted a double-double for the Lakers (8-0) with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Seve Deery-Deraps contributed 15 points for Rangeley.

Senior guard-forward Ashley Hamilton paced the Vikings (6-5) with 11 points on four field goals, including a trey, and a pair of free throws.
