GRAY — The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for western Maine this weekend.
About 1 to 2 inches of rain and high temperatures in the 50s are expected Saturday. Then rain and runoff in Maine rivers may rise behind ice jams.
The flood watch, which means there is a potential for flooding based upon forecasts, is in effect Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening. It covers Androscoggin, southern Franklin, southern Oxford, central Somerset, coastal Cumberland, coastal, Waldo, coastal York, interior Cumberland, interior Waldo, interior York, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Northern, Franklin, Northern Oxford, Sagadahoc and southern Somerset counties.
