FARMINGTON — Two men, an uncle and nephew, accused of burglarizing a home in Chesterville while a teenage girl hid in her bedroom were indicted Monday by a Franklin County grand jury.

James Dingus, 32, of Gardner and his nephew, Stephen Dingus, 32, of Hallowell were taken into custody in Augusta in November.

Both face felony charges of burglary and a misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief. Stephen Dingus faces an additional misdemeanor charge of possession of burglary tools.

The men were charged after a 1998 maroon Chevrolet Lumina was seen leaving a home on Vienna Road in Chesterville on Nov. 11. They were arrested three days later.

Police said a 17-year-old girl stayed in her bedroom when a man knocked on the door of her home. He forced his way into the house and when he saw her in her room he fled in the car.
