CPR, first aid class set for Jan. 18

OXFORD — A CPR and first aid class will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Oxford Public Safety Building.

Instruction includes basic first aid, CPR for adults, children and infants, and use of an automated external defibrillator.

On completion of the one-day class, a two-year certification in accordance with the American Heart Association will be given.

This certification is accepted for day/child care providers, loggers, guides, teachers and any other non-healthcare related professions.

Future scheduled classes will be Feb. 22, March 15 and April 26. Call to confirm dates. Groups may request to schedule a class at their convenience.

Healthcare BLS CPR recertifications are done as needed one-on-one.

Duplicate Bridge Club results

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 10, when a 5 1/2 table Howell movement was enjoyed.

Finishing first in flight A were Paul Kahl (Westbrook) and Joanne Skinner (Portland) tied with Rosemarie Goodwin (Lewiston) and Luke Merry (Gray); third, Cynthia and Bill Clifford Jr. (Lewiston) who also were first in flight B; fourth, Cathy Sanderson (Raymond) and Dick Allen (New Gloucester).

Finishing second in flight B were Cindy and Bob Kirchherr (South Paris); third, Milt McKeen Jr. (Bridgton) and Jim Krainin (Naples).

If SAD 17 cancels school due to bad weather, then bridge is automatically cancelled, also.
