1936 – 2014

LEWISTON — Jerome F. Scanlon passed away on Monday, Jan. 6, at Russell Park Manor.

He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 30, 1936, the son of William M. and Evelyn Frances Berry Scanlon. He worked for many years at Pineland Hospital and Training Center and at Poland Spring Hotel. He also tended bar at the Mechanic Falls Legion Post No. 150 and worked at the Salvation Army store in Lewiston.

His hobbies included reading, computers and studying farming techniques. Jerry’s sense of humor and quick wit will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his brother, William Scanlon, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; two nieces, Kathy Lee of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., and Pat Wert of Windsor, Conn.; four great-nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-great-nephew. His “extended family” includes all of the members of the Duchette family who considered him “Uncle Jerry.”
