PERU — A local woman was killed Friday morning when her station wagon and a logging truck collided on Route 108.

Jane Jacques, 37, of Peru was pronounced dead at the scene, Deputy Josh Wyman of the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office said.

Police received a report of the accident involving a Kelly Co. logging truck and a passenger car at 7:20 a.m., Sheriff’s Office Capt. Christopher Wainwright said.

The truck driver was identified by police as Brian Tupick, 62, of Gorham, N.H. He was not injured, police said.

The cause of the accident remained under investigation.

Authorities closed a section of the road from North Main Street to the Rumford line from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police and the Oxford County crash reconstruction team were at the scene.

Oxford County Sheriff Wayne Gallant said Friday night that Maine State Police Trooper Dan Hanson is heading up the crash reconstruction team to determine the cause of the accident.
