In this “Once Upon a Time” story, the “Leading Player” (played by Kayla Gayton) welcomes the audience to the world she inhabits as the bare stage populated by a group of actors becomes visible; they are Players in a theatrical caravan.

One by one, they all come forward and join the Leading Player in captivating the audience with magic tricks, dance, and other elements of spectacle, preparing them for the story they are about to tell of a young prince (Pippin, played by Zachary Fisher) who longs to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment.

He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh, and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great, played by Joe McGeoghegan). In the end, he discovers that “true” happiness is found in the simple pleasures of home and family.

Included in the cast are Cassidy Stevens, Sabrina Gauthier, Emma Weissenfels, Katelyn Cloutier, Angel Neikirk, Hannah Nadeau, Kitaira Harvey, Michaela Shannon, Abbie Bossie, Brittany Bays, Sabrina Fisher, Kyle Severance, Jonathan Wilcox, Jeremy Pellegrini, Nik Peterson, Hayden Rodrigue, and Annie Giroux.

The production is directed by Lucy Rioux with musical direction provided by John Neal. The technical company includes Laura Eldridge, Jacob Kupfer, Kasey Doyle, MaKenzie LeBlanc, Erika Hannigan, and Wyatt Giroux.

Tickets are $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors and will be sold at the door. For more information, email lucyrioux@gmail.com or call 207-441-3210.
