RUMFORD — Hope Association is preparing for its 39th annual ride-in on Sunday, Feb. 9.
Held every year since 1974, this event brings area snowmobilers together with participants to raise money and, more importantly, offers participants a chance to enjoy the outdoors in a unique way. Thanks to the generosity of local snowmobilers, the community, volunteers and the participants themselves, this event has raised more than $270,000 since it began.
Friends and supporters of Hope Association may purchase raffle tickets — $1 for one ticket or $5 for six — to win cash, gift certificates and other great prizes. Folks may also make a donation directly to the ride-in if they like. All donations provide opportunities for individuals with intellectual and related disabilities to participate in non-Medicaid reimbursable activities and to purchase much needed materials or equipment that are not paid for by state funds.
The event will be held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, at Horizons Unlimited, 319 Swain Road. Prizes will be drawn at 1:30. A hot buffet dinner will be served.
