GORHAM (AP) — A University of Southern Maine student charged with threatening one of his fraternity brothers with a gun, prompting a three-hour standoff with police, is headed to court.
Alan-Michael Santos, a business marketing major from Winchester, Mass., is scheduled to face a judge Friday on charges including terrorizing and threatening with a firearm.
The 23-year-old Santos has been held on $15,000 bail since surrendering late Wednesday night.
Police say he and other members of the Sigma Nu fraternity had been drinking at a restaurant across the street from the off-campus fraternity house before the standoff.
Police recovered two guns from the fraternity. Santos was not prohibited from having guns and has no known criminal record.
Police say he has not talked to investigators. It was not immediately clear who his lawyer is.
