TURNER — The wedding of Melissa Stephenson and Joshua Peters was held at 4 p.m. on Aug. 24 at Martindale Country Club in Auburn. Sue Varney, notary public, officiated at the ceremony.

Mrs. Peters is the daughter of David and Gail Stephenson of Turner. Mr. Peters is the son of Michael Peters of South Portland and and Lisa Varney of Lewiston.

The bride wore a satin gown with lace bodice and train. She carried a bouquet of white garden roses and hydrangea.

Cortney Smith, friend of the bride, served as honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Kristen Doyle, Laura Yoho and Lindsay Smith, all long-time friends of the couple. Morgan Chase, goddaughter, was flower girl.

Serving as best man for the bridegroom was Kevin Chase, best friend. Ushers were Jared Peters, brother of the bridegroom, Timothy Stephenson, brother of the bride, and Nick Hupp, long-time friend of the bridegroom. Grant Peters, nephew, was ring bearer.

A reception followed at Martindale Country Club, after which the couple traveled to Sandals Grande Riviera in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They are residing in Palmetto, Fla.

The bride graduated from Nottingham Trent University of the United Kingdom and holds a master’s degree in equine health and welfare.

The bridegroom has an associate degree in criminal justice from the University of Southern Maine. He is currently serving with the Coast Guard, stationed in St. Petersburg, Fla.
