GREENE — The wedding of Katherine (Kate) Damon and William (Bill) Denney was held at 4 p.m. on Jan. 4 at the Sedgley Place in Greene. The Rev. Russell Peppe officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Marcia Baxter and Bruce Damon of Lewiston. The bridegroom is the son of Louise Bittick of LaGrange, Ga., and Donald Denney of Franklin, Ga.

In lieu of flower girls, the couple’s four nieces, daughters of the bridegroom’s siblings, were “Snow Angels.”

A reception followed at the Sedgley Place in Greene. The couple is residing in Somerville, Mass.

The bride is a 1998 graduate of Lewiston High School and a 2002 graduate of Harvard College with a bachelor’s degree. She graduated in 2010 from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in nursing and Yale University in 2013 with a master’s degree in nurse-midwifery. She is currently employed part-time at an elementary math education company, Digi-Block, in Cambridge, Mass. In February she will be employed as a certified nurse-midwife at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass.

The bridegroom is a 1998 graduate of LaGrange High School and a 2002 graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007 with a doctorate in chemical and biomolecular engineering. He is currently employed at Pfizer as a clinical pharmacologist, where he works in the development of new medications for diabetes and heart disease.
