AUBURN — The Auburn Art Club will meet at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, in the Tenants Harbor Room at Schooner Estates, 200 Stetson Road. Note the change of location.

Ruth Farnsworth will chair this meeting and will be assisted by Dorothy Prince and Linda Lelansky. The speaker will be Kellie Chasse, a well-known Maine artist who is new to the Auburn area, having moved here from Brunswick. Chasse and her mother started a water color art business in 2007 called “PartyPainter.”

Chasse has taught classes at the Highlands and Thornton Oaks as well as conducting classes for small groups and individuals. Beginning on Feb. 13 she will be teaching a monthly class at the Adult Education Center in Turner.

Chasse was raised in Presque Isle and moved to Brunswick in 1987. Her journey as a self-taught artist unlocked unique techniques and solutions which have contributed to her success. For her, painting is a form of meditation which is reflected in her peaceful and serene works. She uses acrylic, alcohol inks, watercolor and more.

All members are encouraged to attend this meeting.
