1924 – 2014

AUBURN — Pauline Y. Auclair, 89, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, Jan. 31, at her son’s home in Auburn.

She was born in Chisholm on Sept. 7, 1924, a daughter of the late Wilfred and Laura (Ouellette) Poisson. She grew up in that area and attended local schools. She was a graduate of Livermore High School, Class of 1942. Pauline spent much of her time as a weaver, working in textiles at the Bates Mill. She was also the head housekeeper at the Ramada Inn.

On Sept. 9, 1950, Pauline married the love of her life, Henry Auclair, at St. Peter’s Church in Lewiston and together they started a family. Pauline will always be remembered for her love of cooking, knitting and spending quality time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Henry, of Lewiston; her sons, John and his wife, Shirley, of North Carolina and Stephen and his wife, Philippa, of Auburn; two sisters, Germaine Martel and Lorraine Vincent, both of Lewiston; four grandchildren, Ben, Joey, Melissa and Melanie; as well as three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Irene and Jeannette; and two brothers, George and Armand.
