Library holding trivia contest

PARIS — Paris Public Library is holding a Presidents’ Day trivia contest for all ages. Trivia questions can be picked up at the library or printed from the library’s Facebook page (find the link at www.paris.lib.me.us).

Sheets must be returned to the front desk on or by Feb. 17.

Three correctly completed sheets will be randomly drawn for three prizes of new President Lincoln $5 bills.

Winners will be contacted by telephone.

Italian dinner to aid softball teams

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield softball teams will hold an Italian dinner fundraiser on Friday, Feb. 14, at the Otisfield Community Hall on Route 121. Seatings will be at 5 and 6 p.m. Dinner is free; however, donations are gratefully accepted.

The menu includes lasagna, spaghetti, salad, bread and dessert. A gluten-free choice will be available.

All the money raised will be used for Senior League uniforms, sweatshirts and equipment. Help kick off the Otisfield Winter Carnival.

Sweetheart Supper, Dance is Feb. 15

PARIS — A Valentine’s Sweetheart Supper and Dance will be held Saturday, Feb. 15, at the South Paris American Legion Hall, 12 Church St. The event is sponsored by Foster-Carroll American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 72.

A roast pork supper from 5 to 6 p.m. will be followed by a dance by the Jones Band from 6:30 to 9:30.

The cost for supper only is $8 adults, $4 ages 12 and under. Dance only, $5.

Presidents’ Day at Paris Public Library

PARIS —  On Presidents’ Day, Feb. 17, at 2 pm., the Paris Public Children’s Library will present a story time to children of all ages.

“George Washington’s Teeth (which were in very bad shape… therefore, he did not smile much as he was often in pain)” by Chandra, Corma and Cole, and “Just Like Abraham Lincoln (who had such sad eyes he often looked like he was going to cry)” by Waber will be read.

Afterwards, craft materials will be available to make a patriotic wind sock.
