BATH (AP) — The stealthy Zumwalt that’s under construction at Bath Iron Works is due to be christened on April 12.

Bath Iron Works confirmed that the Navy has set the new date after postponing the original ceremony last fall because of the partial federal government shutdown.

The 610-foot Zumwalt is designed to minimize its radar signature and comes with several new technologies including powerful guns that fire rocket-propelled projectiles.

Two additional ships in the class are under construction at Bath. The first one, Zumwalt, will be delivered to the Navy later this year for testing and will join the fleet in 2016.
