1943 – 2014
AUBURN — Donald R. Ferland, 70, of Greene, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 3, at the Hospice House after a courageous battle with lung disease.
He was born in Mexico on April 27, 1943, the youngest child of Albert and Alice (Drouin) Ferland. He married his wife, Harriet I. Anderson, in August 1966, and moved to Greene in 1970 to raise their family. He worked a variety of jobs throughout his life, including owning his own trucking company. He was also a member of the Greene Volunteer Fire Department for 37 years.
He leaves behind his daughter, Tina Hutchinson, of Lewiston; two sons, Michael of Greene and Donald J. of Lewiston; two grandchildren, Kylie Ferland of Farmington and Seth Hutchinson of Lewiston; his sister, Anita Richard; two brothers, Al and David; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife and his parents.
