Gray-New Gloucester senior Noah Lobozzo won the Western Maine Conference slalom title at Thursday’s conference alpine championships at Shawnee Peak.

Lobozzo finished with a combined time of 1:27.93 for his two runs to win the title, edging Yarmouth’s Tucker Grout by six-tenths of a second. Lobozzo’s 43.13 was the top time in the first round. He clocked in at 44.80 on the second run to hold off Grout and third-place finisher Joseph Lesniak of Falmouth (1:30.16).

Eric Wilcox of Gray-New Gloucester was 12th (1:46.40).

Yarmouth won the team slalom, but Falmouth took the giant slalom and overall alpine title, led by GS champion Joseph Lesniak (1:34.39). Lobozzo finished third in the GS (1:37.82). Louis Frumer of Waynflete was the runner-up. Wilcox finished sixth (1:40.26). The Patriots placed fourth overall in the teams standings with 139 points, behind the Yachtsmen (80), Yarmouth (101) and Freeport (129).

Greely cruised to the girls’ team title, winning both the slalom and GS races to finish with 39 points, ahead of Yarmouth (103) and Falmouth). Elyse Dinan led the Rangers by winning the slalom and finishing second in the GS. Dinan (1:34.99) won the title by nearly six seconds over teammate Jill Booth. Chapin Dorsett of Yarmouth was third.

Keaton McEvoy (1:56.95) and Caitlin Holmquist (2:01.88)of Gray-New Gloucester finished 17th and 21st, respectively.

Falmouth’s Krysia Lesniak won the GS championship with a combined time of 1:40.85, nearly three seconds ahead of Dinan and Dorsett. McEvoy (1:57.77) finished 20th. The Patriots finished seventh in the overall team standings.
