1928 – 2014

AUBURN — Therese V. Allen, 85, of Auburn and formerly of 763 Lisbon St., Lewiston, died at the Sarah Frye Home on Wednesday, Feb. 5.

Born in Lewiston on Dec. 2, 1928, she was the daughter of Joseph and Virginia Bourque Allen. She was educated locally and a graduate of Lewiston High School. She moved to Florida as a young woman and started a career in real estate sales. In 1970, she married Gerard Allen in Florida and returned to the local area following his death in 1989.

Therese was an avid reader and a member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish.

Survivors include three sisters, Irene Lozier of Rutland, Vt., Simone Deschaine of Lewiston and Lorraine Perron of Lewiston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Raymond Allen; and six sisters, Corinne Deforge, Lauretta Lombard, Gloria Lacasse, Annette Gagne, Cecile St. Amant and Doris Turgeon.

The family thanks the staff of the Sarah Frye Home and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Services for the loving care they gave Therese during her final months.
