RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Wendell J. “Wink” MacDonald was celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, at Parish of the Holy Savior.

The Rev. Greg Dube was the celebrant, Bernard Poirier was the altar server and Mark Belanger was the organist. Prior to the Mass, Cindy Clarke Bulger sang “What A Wonderful World” and “Danny Boy.” The entrance hymn was “Be Not Afraid” and the communion hymn was “Panis Angelicas.” After communion, his grandnephew, Sam Bagala, played Beethoven’s “Sonata.” The recessional hymn was “On Eagles’ Wings.” The Old Testament reading was proclaimed by his granddaughter, Sara Hoffman, and the New Testament reading was proclaimed by daughter-in-law, Nancy MacDonald. Offertory gifts were presented by grandsons, Christopher Hoffman and Luke Johnson, and personal reflections were shared by his son, Dennis MacDonald, and grandson, Ryan Hoffman.

Spring interment will be in the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. A reception followed at 49 Franklin St. Services were under the care and guidance of S.G. Thibault Funeral Home, 250 Penobscot St., Rumford.
