We aren’t even out of the quarterfinals, and weather has wreaked havoc with the basketball tournament schedule for a second time.

All four Class B West girls’ quarterfinal games scheduled for Tuesday at Portland Expo have been postponed due to the snowstorm expected this afternoon and evening.

The games now will be played Wednesday, and it creates an early wakeup call for the two local teams involved.

No. 6 Gray-New Gloucester will face No. 3 Wells at 9 a.m., with No. 2 Spruce Mountain and No. 7 Fryeburg to follow at 10:30 a.m.

Greely and Lincoln will meet at 1 p.m., and Lake Region-York rounds out the schedule at 2:30 p.m.

The Class A West boys’ semifinal session at Cumberland County Civic Center remains in its original place on the schedule at 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Because of the move, the Class B girls’ quarterfinals and semifinals will be played on back-to-back days. Semifinals are set for Thursday afternoon at CCCC.

Eastern A Boys’ Semifinals time changes

Due to Wednesday’s revised schedule at the Augusta Civic Center, the Eastern A Boys’ semifinals have been moved back a half-hour.

The semifinal between No. 6 Oxford Hills and No. 2 Brunswick will start at 7:30 p.m. Fifteen minutes after the conclusion of that game, the semifinal between No. 5 Edward Little and No. 1 Hampden Academy will start, approximately 9 p.m.

The games were moved back to allow time for the arena to be cleared between the afternoon and evening sessions.
