DIXFIELD – The Dixfield American Legion Post will hold its monthly chili and chowder supper at 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, to raise money for its programs.

“It’s a good way to get people from the Legion, the Legion Riders and other clubs in the area to come together and raise a little bit of money,” Financial officer Ed Ellis said. The cost is $5; children under the age of 10 $2.50.

The meal will be served at the Legion hall on Main Street.

Bridget Daigle, first vice president of the Ladies Auxiliary, said that fundraising efforts have been more difficult as of late, and suppers help keep the club afloat.

“I know some of us here want to start doing suppers in honor of certain community members,” she said.

The Legion is also preparing for its second annual Motorcycle Swap Meet on May 10.

“This year, we’re making sure to schedule a rain date,” Daigle said. “We’re looking at May 17 right now, but that’s still up in the air.”
