STRONG — A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas A. Piekart, of Strong, was held Saturday morning, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Middle Street, Farmington, with the Rev. Thomas Lequin officiating, following a family prayer service at Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Routes 2 and 27, Farmington.

Pallbearers were Timothy Piekart, Thomas Piekart II, Chris Gale, John Davis, Jamie Badershall and Quinten Clark; the readers were Mary Sirois and Jennifer Piekart; and the gifts were presented by his granddaughters, Jean Marie Piekart and Johanna Piekhart. Special hymns included “Be Not Afraid” and “Amazing Grace.”

At the conclusion of Mass, a eulogy was given by his son, Timothy Piekart, and a closing poem was recited by his granddaughter, Hanna. Following services, a comfort reception was held at the parish hall, hosted by the Altar Guild. Winter entombment is at Wiles Remembrance Center. Spring burial with full military honors will be held at Mile Square Cemetery.
