Guest speaker Kathy Young receives her copy of the Optimist Creed from Optimist Club Vice President Shane Wright at the January meeting at Chopsticks in Lewiston. Young updated the club on upcoming events at the Androscoggin Land Trust, including a Family Fun Triathlon on Aug. 10. It will be a noncompetitive event that includes canoe paddle, bike ride and a one-mile run. It is designed as a family fun event to get adults and kids involved in outdoor recreation together.
