LEWISTON — Gerry and Pat Raymond of Lewiston observed their 50th wedding anniversary at a social gathering hosted by their children at Davinci’s Restaurant in Lewiston on July 14. The celebration was attended by numerous relatives and friends, including all of the couple’s wedding attendants.

The couple renewed their marriage vows on Aug. 18 at a Mass at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. They were married on Aug. 17, 1963, at Holy Family Church in Lewiston.

They are the parents of John and Michele Raymond, Paul and Jackie Raymond, Jennifer and Peter Williams and Julie Raymond. They are the proud grandparents of Brooke and Cameron Raymond, Evan and Rebecca Raymond, Emma, David and Corrina Williams and Alyssa, Chloe and Lucia Tremblay.

In celebration of their anniversary, the couple flew to Barcelona, Spain, where they spent a few days prior to enjoying a seven-day cruise in the Mediterranean. Ports of call included cities in Italy, France and Spain.

Retired from Dead River Co. for several years, Mrs. Raymond thoroughly enjoys her busy and active role as Memere. Mr. Raymond is executive director of St. Peter’s Cemetery, where he has been employed since 1990. He also enjoys his role as Pepere and is looking forward to retirement.
