MONMOUTH — Monmouth Community Players has announced the cast and crew for “Godspell” which will open Friday, April 4, at Cumston Hall, 796 Maine Street.

Stephen Schwartz and John Michael Tribelak’s “Godspell” is sure to delight people of all ages with such songs as “Day by Day,” “O Bless the Lord” and “We Beseech Thee.”

Playing the part of Jesus will be Jeffrey A. Fairchild who most recently played Motel in Fiddler at MCP. John the Baptist, JC’s right hand man, will be played by Troy Bisson.

Greg the comedian and Colleen the innocent, will be portrayed by Gregor Smith and Colleen Mahan. Andy Tolman will be Andy, the impish and playful.

Emma, a bit of a young tomboy, will be played by Emma Vierling. Josie, the confident show-off, will be portrayed by Josie French. Emily Trefethen will play Emily, the earth mother, with sassy Kirsten played by Kirstin Hayward. Karen LIpovsky rounds out the main players as the cut-up Karen.

There will be an ensemble of citizens showing comic ability and improvisation. Kyla Wallace will be on stage with Linda and Teresa Easterbrooks. Adria Huges, Cindy Dunham and John Plasse will join Jenna Roy and Justin Foglietta. The ages of the cast members range from eight-60s. This is a wonderful family show.

“Godspell” is being directed by Penny Jaskalen and is the final show of the 2013-2014 season. Amey Feeley will be her stage manager. Musical director is Colleen Mahan and choreographer is Adam P. Blais.

Dave Marshall and Rich Howard are producing this show, with Birdi Wallace doing costumes, and Christine Heckman on props.

David and Michelle Handley are building the set.

Show dates are April 4, 5, 11,12 at 7:30 p.m. and April 6 and 13 at 2 p.m.
