PORTLAND — Portland Ovations in collaboration with The Institute of Contemporary Art at Maine College of Art will present the modern percussion ensemble So Percussion at ICA at MECA for two concerts 15 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13.
Part experimental music gig, part multimedia rock show, part happening, So Percussion’s Where (we) Live is a freeform investigation of the places and spaces we call home. Portland photographer Bryan Graf, who shares an affinity for chance and spontaneity, will join
to create an evening that is one-of-a-kind.
So Percussion redefines the modern percussion ensemble as a flexible, omnivorous entity, pushing its voice to the forefront of American musical culture.
Tickets are $27 for Ovations’ members and $30 for the general public. The 7:30 p.m. performance is sold out but a second 9:30 p.m. performance has been added. To purchase tickets, visit www.portlandovations.org, call 207-842-0800 or go to the box office window at Merrill Auditorium, 20 Myrtle St.
