1921 – 2014

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Cora D. (Bussieré) Ward, 92, wife of Milton F. Ward of New Britain, Conn., passed away on Saturday, Feb. 22, at Jerome Home, with her family by her side.

She was born in Oxford on July 18, 1921, to the late Francois and Eva (LaFlamme) Bussieré. Cora was employed by Fafnir Bearing and was a parishioner of Saint Maurice Church.

Cora and Milton were members of square dancing teams, and they enjoyed square and round dancing and putting on shows for many years. She loved spending time with family and friends, and especially loved playing cards.

Besides the love of Cora’s life, Milton, she will be dearly missed by her children: her son, Howard M. Ward Sr. and his wife, Frances; and her daughter, Sheila Ward and her husband, John E. Labieniec, all of Connecticut. She is also survived by two sisters, Yvette Lachance of Virginia and Irene Lachance and her husband, Lionel, of Maine; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and godchildren; and special neighbors and friends.

Cora was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.

Special thanks are extended to the staff of Jerome Home for their many acts of kindness, support and taking such gentle and loving care of our beloved Cora.
