1930 – 2014

AUBURN — Germaine J. Doyon, 84, of Auburn, died Sunday, Feb. 23, at Schooner Estates, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Auburn on Jan. 3, 1930, the youngest daughter of 14 children of the late Reginald and Alma (Croteau) Janelle. She was educated in local schools and in Jackman.

Germaine married the love of her life, Bertrand Doyon, on June 20, 1953; he predeceased her on Oct. 14, 2004. She worked in several of the local shoe shops for many years and was a member of St. Louis Parish.

Germaine loved spending time at her camp in Moosehead, hosting many family functions and cooking for her family. She enjoyed every minute of being a grandmother and readily availed herself to play in the sandbox and wading pool, as well as pillow fights and sharing books.

She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. She enjoyed her Oreos and ice cream in lieu of dinner. She was a quiet and stoic woman who had a great sense of humor.
