DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am writing on behalf of Waterford Grange 479, a small Grange with talented, energetic members. We contribute to many community needs, including supplying warm mittens to the local schools and contributing to Waterford Santa, among many others.

Thanks to the wonderful response from your readers last year, we were not only able to contribute to many community needs, but will also be able to install an electric water pump this spring. Like many other Granges in Maine, we have an aging building in need of repairs.

We are again seeking help from our friends and neighbors to aid us in raising money for more updates. To that end, we plan on having a craft booth at the North Waterford Fair this July and a booth at the farmers market on the Waterford Green on Mondays throughout summer.

We would appreciate materials for knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, braiding or basket weaving, as well as any crafts. If you have any odds and ends of supplies that you no longer need, we can put them to good use.

Also,  if you would be interested in joining our happy group, we are welcoming new members. You can call me at 583-4490 or Sharon McAllister at 928-2878 for information concerning our organization or to arrange for pickup of materials. — Mary DeLorenzo, Waterford, egcellent@oxfordnetworks.net
