LEWISTON — Thanks to thousands of safe driver commitments recently made in support of Lewiston High School through the State Farm Insurance Celebrate My Drive program, LHS received a $25,000 grant on Jan. 11.

One hundred schools were eligible to receive a grant ranging from $25,000 to $100,000. More than 3,500 schools registered for the program, and Lewiston High School finished in the top 100, hence the $25,000 grant from State Farm. Lewiston High School is the only school in Maine to receive a grant from the program.

Local State Farm agent Lisa Laliberte presented the check during the opening ceremonies of a varsity boys basketball game.

Grant funds will go to the Franklin Pasture Sports Complex fundraising campaign and safe teen driving outreach.
