Quilters to meet March 13

RUMFORD — Rumford Area Quilters will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 13, at the Rumford United Methodist Church, Linnell Street. All area quilters are invited.

A demonstration will be given on how to transform a shirt into a pillow, as well as the Disappearing Pinwheel square. Show and tell is always welcome, including Mystery Quilt tops or finished quilts.

Library holding basket raffle

DIXFIELD — Ludden Memorial Library is having a Spring Basket Raffle. The library is raffling off two Spring Baskets full of items including gift cards, gardening items, children’s Easter books, DVDs, specialty food items and much more.

The tickets are for sale at the library and at Mrs. B’s Country Store in Peru. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The baskets can be seen at the library and at the store.

Beacon House craft fair tables

RUMFORD — The Beacon House will hold a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 26, at the Rumford Eagles Club, 13 Oxford Ave.

There will be crafts, food, karaoke, lunch, a children’s corner, Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.

Tables are $15 or two for $25. To reserve a table, call 369-0868 or 357-4075 or stop in at the Beacon House, 3 Canal St.

The Beacon House is a social club whose members are surviving the ill effects of mental health.

Seniors group luncheon on March 17

RUMFORD — Rumford Senior Citizens of Peru will hold a St. Patrick’s Day luncheon and and party at noon Monday, March 17, at the Old Peru School.

The menu is baked ham and chicken with fixings. Entertainment will be by Billy Scott and Friends. There also will be a 5o/50 and door prizes.

The cost is $12.

RUMFORD — Members of the Stephens High School Class of 1949 will meet for their regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Brian’s Bistro.

Seniors plan trip to Niagara, Toronto

RUMFORD — The Rumford Senior Center and Anna Shaw will host a trip to Niagara Falls and Toronto from May 18-24.

There are four seats left. The cost is $559. The trip is open to the public.
