PORTLAND — Dan Morin of Scarborough recently joined MaineHealth as director of government affairs.

He will serve as the key resource for state legislators, and Maine’s congressional delegation and other stakeholders on health care policy and issues facing MaineHealth and its clients.

Morin comes to MaineHealth from the Maine Turnpike Authority where he oversaw all external communications, including media inquiries and marketing activities, as well as representing the MTA before the Maine Legislature.

Prior to that, he was director of government affairs for the Kansas Medical Society, representing more than 4,000 physicians. He also worked on-air and in promotions for various Maine radio stations after four years of active duty with the United States Coast Guard.

Morin is a Lewiston native and graduated from Lewiston High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Pittsburgh.
