College Transitions is a 14-week class that can bridge the gap between you and college, improve reading, writing and math skills to college level. Discover strategies to improve tech skills, time management and study skills. This class is free. RSU 73 Adult Education would like to extend a special invitation to all of veterans preparing to return to college. One college credit may be earned for Central Maine Community College after successfully completing the requirements of the class. Class will start April 2.

The Perfect Omelette!: In the tradition of Julia Child and as served in the renowned Cafe L’Etoile at Macy’s in Herald Square, New York City, learn how to make the traditional French omelette. This is offered one time, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1. Cost: $10.

Beacon Hospice Volunteer: Be the person who makes a difference to a neighbor and their family as they face end of life issues. This free, 21-hour, seven-week training course will prepare participants to support patients and their families. Led by the volunteer coordinator, the team of RN care managers, licensed clinical social workers, clergy and bereavement specialists will provide the informational tools needed to provide compassionate support for patients and their families. Class runs from March 27 to April 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Cost: $5 building donation.

Getting More Food from Your Garden: Learn how to have a more productive vegetable garden. Class will cover a variety of plant choices, soil and fertilizers, pest management and more. Presented by the UMaine Cooperative Extension. This is offered one time on Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. $10.

Computer for Seniors: Learn basic computer skills including the Internet and email. This class will run for six weeks starting Friday, April 18, from 9 to 11 a.m. $55.

Firearms Hunter Safety: State of Maine-approved firearm course that is required for those who have never held a hunting license. It requires home study and students must attend all sessions to complete the course. Register early as the class fills up fast. There will be three classes on April 24, May 6 and 8, from 6 to 9 p.m. $10.

Walk Your Way to Good Health: Spruce Mountain Adult and Community Education is offering the gym for those interested in walking their way to good health. Sign up to walk Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Cost: $3 per week or $12 per month

Orientation: During orientation students will receive an explanation of how the Adult Learning Center works. They will complete information, set goals, discover learning styles and personality types, research careers and schools. Reading and math level will be tested. Orientation is scheduled for March 26, April 8 and April 30.
