1943 – 2014

AUBURN — Kenneth P. Chicoine, 70, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at the Androscoggin Hospice House on Friday, March 14.

He was the son of Rene J. Chicoine Sr. and Isabel (Price) Chicoine, and was born on Sept. 15, 1943, in Lewiston. He graduated in 1961 from Edward Little High School, and attended Bates College and the University of Southern Maine. On Aug. 7, 1965, he married his longtime sweetheart, Louise L. Spugnardi, in Auburn. He worked for Pioneer Plastics at that time. Two years later, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and upon returning from military duty, he went to work for R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. He then worked for SC Johnson and Son for 17 years.

Kenneth and Louise were blessed with two sons, Christopher Kenneth and David R. Chicoine. Ken was involved with Christopher’s Boy Scout troop as state commissioner and with David’s hockey team at the Holy Family Booster Club.

After Ken retired from SC Johnson and Son, he went to work for Helms Tobacco Co. for a short time. He then went to work for Big Orange Productions, doing sales and auditing. Ken was a born salesman, and enjoyed the challenge of the sale and the communication with the people; he worked for Big Orange Productions, until his ill health.

Ken is survived by his wife of 47 years, Louise; and their sons: Christopher and wife, Tracie (Vitale), and daughter, Quinn Abigail, and sons C. Connor and Cole Anthony; and Dr. David R.Chicoine and daughter, Mia Noelle Chicoine. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon (Chicoine) Wise and Nancy (Chicoine) Dolan and her husband, Michael Dolan; brother, Rene J.Chicoine Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Rene J.Chicoine Sr.; mother, Isabel (Price) Chicoine; brother, Ronald J. Chicoine; sister, Carol (Chicoine) Begin; grandfather, Frank Price; Nana, Lila Price; Meme, Lydia (Ouellette) Chicoine; and Pepe, Arthur Chicoine.
