1987 – 2014

BOSTON, Mass. — Our loving son and brother, James “Jamie” Gerald Bouchard Donahue, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 22, in Boston, from a brain hemorrhage caused by a congenital condition.

He was born in Waterville on May 31, 1987, the son of Rita P. Bouchard and Joseph G. Donahue of Gardiner.

Jamie’s gentle soul, passion for music and unassuming manner will always be remembered. He lived with open arms and a ready smile, and he touched more people than we will ever know with his constant, intelligent humor and genuine love for all people. The outpouring of love he experienced from family and friends during his brief illness filled his heart and provided him with a sense of all the love he had shared with others.

A graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School in Auburn and Bates College in Lewiston, Jamie was attending Simmons College Graduate School for library and information science at the time of his passing. He loved his friends, listening to and playing music, disc jockeying at the Bates radio station, WRBC, spending time at the family camp, hunting and fishing, exploring locally and abroad and most recently promoting the band Rustic Overtones, which he loved.

Jamie leaves behind a large, close and grieving family, including his parents, Rita P. Bouchard and Joseph G. Donahue of Gardiner; sister, Kathryn and husband, Gregory McIntosh; brother, Joseph and wife, Leah Allen; aunts and uncles, including Jacqueline Bouchard, Gerald and Carla Bouchard, Sherril Bouchard, Burnell Bouchard and wife, Barbara Simpson, Royal and Lois Bouchard, Donna Bouchard and Albert LaBonte, Cecile Bouchard and husband, Brian Webber, David Bouchard and wife, Elizabeth Shehadi, Gerald Donahue, James Donahue, John and Roxann Donahue and Jean and David Cousins; as well as many cousins. Jamie also leaves behind many close friends, especially Nina Emmi, whose friendship he cherished for many years, Nelson Harris, Alex Downs and Lucas Ward, as well as Dhyana Berry, with whom he formed a fast and deep bond upon entering Simmons.

Jamie was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Yvette and Joseph Bouchard; paternal grandparents, Gerald and Gertrude Donahue; uncle, Ronnie “Tex” Bouchard; and uncle, Larry Bouchard.
