1946 – 2014

LEWISTON — Philippe Emile Richard, loving husband, father, pepere and uncle, 67, of Martin Drive in Lewiston, died Sunday, March 30, at his home, in the loving arms of his wife, Muriel, and surrounded by his three children, Mark, Danielle and Michelle and family.

Phil was born in Lewiston on Dec. 29, 1946, one of nine sons of the late Ralph and Anette (Ayotte) Richard. He was educated in local schools and graduated from St. Dominics’s High School, Class of 1965.

Phil worked for B. Peck & Co. department store, Homestead Restaurant and Cash Corner Discount, and was most recently general manager at The Furniture Superstore, until he was too ill to work.

Phil was very involved with St. Martin de Porres Residence for the Homeless. He helped organize events such as “An Affair of the Heart” and the Great Falls Balloon Festival food booth. He also served on the board of directors from its inception until his passing.

He leaves his wife of 30 years, Muriel (Cloutier); his three children, Mark Mauzeralle, Danielle Troiano and her husband, Robert, and Michelle Jensen and her husband, Steven; grandchildren, Mellissa Grondin and husband, Chris, Madison Landry and husband, Nathan, Alex Raymond and companion, Samantha Ouellette, Anja Jensen and Emma Jensen; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Landry and Brynn Grondin; his six brothers, Brother Irenee Richard OP, Fern Richard and wife, Joanne, Donald Richard, Louis Richard and wife, Stella, Gerry Richard and wife, Louise, and Robert Richard and wife, June; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a two brothers, Gilbert Richard and Leo Richard; and a sister-in-law, Georgette Richard.
