Little Orphan Annie makes her way to Lake Region Community Theatre

NAPLES — Are you the next Annie? Oliver Warbucks? Miss Hannigan? Or do you just love singing the classic songs “Tomorrow,” “It’s a Hard Knock Life” and “Easy Street”?

Auditions for Lake Region Community Theatre’s presentation of “Annie” will be held at Lake Region High School on Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12.

“Annie” is based on the book by Thomas Meehan. With music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Martin Charnin, the musical is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International.

Auditions for adults and children ages 8 and older for parts including New Yorkers (rich and poor: shoppers, theater-goers, cabbies, busker, businessmen, hotdog cart, cops, moms and kids, tourists, etc.) will take place on Friday from 6:30-9 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. You only need to attend one audition date.

Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Be prepared to dance and wear clothing that will not limit your movement. Also, wear appropriate shoes. Plan to read excerpts from the script.
