LEWISTON — A suspect in the March 20 robbery of a taxi driver in Lisbon turned himself in Monday morning, according to a Lisbon Police Department statement.
Orlando Perez, 45, of Lewiston was arrested at the Lewiston Police Department and taken to the Androscoggin County Jail. He was charged with one count of Class A robbery and was held on $5,000 cash bail.
In March, a cab driver for Five Star Taxi in Lewiston picked up a suspect on Drummond Street in Auburn and drove him to Fillion Street, where the driver was told to stop, Lisbon Police Detective Bernard McAllister said.
The suspect threatened the driver and took “a small amount of cash,” according to police.
After an investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for Perez.
Perez is expected to make his initial appearance in court this week.
