Performing the music for an evening of old-time New England contras, squares and couple dances will be the Great Falls Community Folk Orchestra under the direction of fiddler/conductor Doug Protsik.
The event will begin with a family “barn dance,” followed at 8 p.m. by a program of up-tempo contras, polkas, schottisches and waltzes. No prior dance experience is necessary to participate as instruction will be provided throughout, and people are encouraged to attend with or without a partner.
Admission is $1 per person; $5 or $3 for students (up to age 22) for the 8 p.m. program. More information is available at www.MaineFolqueCo-op.com or 207-782-0386.
