1922 – 2014

SKOWHEGAN — Marcia A. Ford Corliss, 92, of Norridgewock, died Monday, April 7, at Redington-Fairview General Hospital.

She was born in New Portland on Jan. 22, 1922, the daughter of Perley and Esther (Gilman) Luce. She was educated in New Portland and was married to Millard Ford at a young age. She was a homemaker for many years and later she co-managed the family service station with Millard.

After Millard’s death, Marcia married Theron Corliss. The two of them enjoyed camping and fishing; she became quite accomplished at fly-fishing. Marcia was also well known as a great cook. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Order of the Amaranth. Marcia had most recently lived in Norridgewock.

Marcia was predeceased by her husbands, Millard Ford and Theron Corliss; a son, Winston Ford; her daughter, Nancy Ford Poulin; and brothers, Philip and Leonard Luce. She is survived by her beloved companion, Richard Elick, of Norridgewock; her son, Vernon Ford and his wife, Glenda, and his children, Allison Ford of Madison, Kim Ford of Turner and Tory Ford and his wife, June, of Wilton; Winston’s wife, Linda Ford, of Norridgewock and their children, Sherry Lyman and her husband, Jim, of Portland, Conn., and Claudine Dupuis and her husband, Shawn, of Gainsville, Va.; Nancy’s children, Susan Rodrigue of Penobscot and Kevin Thompson of Sturgis, S.D.; and five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and two great-great-grandchildren.
