Palm Sunday, April 13, 9:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s. Congregants enact Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem with the blessing of the palms and a procession. During the liturgy the story of Jesus’ passion is read in a participatory way, with different people taking different roles. Holy Communion follows.
Maundy Thursday, April 17, 7 p.m. at St. Luke’s. Congregants recall Jesus’ act of humility at the Last Supper through a foot washing. After Holy Communion the church is darkened in preparation for Good Friday.
Good Friday, April 18, noon, Farmington Ecumenical Good Friday Service at Old South Church. St. Luke’s participates in the noon Farmington Ecumenical service.
Good Friday, April 18, 7 p.m., Wilton Ecumenical Good Friday Service at Wilton United Methodist Church. St. Luke’s participates in the annual Wilton Ecumenical Good Friday service.
Great Vigil of Easter, Saturday, April 19, 8 p.m. at St. Luke’s. Beginning in a darkened church, the vigil celebrates Christ’s resurrection through light, scripture, Easter hymns, renewal of baptismal vows and Holy Communion.
Farmington Ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service, April 20, 5:45 a.m. at Voter Hill, Farmington. St. Luke’s participates in this annual Farmington tradition on Voter Hill.
Easter Festival Eucharist, April 20, 9:30 a.m. at St. Luke’s. A joyous celebration of Easter. Also join for a fun indoor Easter egg hunt for the children immediately following the service.
