PLYMOUTH — A state trooper is OK after a flying turkey flew into the windshield of his cruiser on Interstate 95 Thursday morning.

Trooper Tucker Bonnevie was on patrol in the southbound lanes when he saw a flock of turkeys in the highway’s median, Maine State Police spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

One turkey took flight before it struck the trooper’s windshield, McCausland said. A large dent was left in the windshield on the driver’s side, he added.

Bonnevie managed to escape injury, while damage to the cruiser was confined to the windshield.
